The Witte Museum
Museums - North - five miles
Located in Brackenridge Park on the banks of the San Antonio River, the Witte offers permanent exhibits that include dinosaur skeletons, cave drawings, wildlife dioramas and even some live animals. Several historic homes have been reconstructed on the campus, which also features the very popular H-E-B Science Treehouse. Changing galleries include Texas artists, textiles and showcase exhibits with some locally produced and some traveling national exhibits.
The Witte Museum is open year-round except for the third Monday in October, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Monday – 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Tuesday – 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday – 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Sunday - Noon – 5:00 p.m.
$2 per person for museum self-guided visit only
$3 per person for one program and self-guided visit
$4 per person for two programs and self-guided visit
$5 per person for three programs and self-guided visit
Advance registration of at least two weeks is required.
